Gardiner & Theobald gains JOSCAR certification for defence and aerospace work
The partner-led cost and project management consultancy said the defence supply-chain accreditation will let new and existing clients in aerospace, defence, security and space onboard the firm more quickly.

Gardiner & Theobald has achieved Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR) certification, which the cost and project management consultancy said many of its aerospace, defence, security and space clients require of their suppliers.
G&T said the register gives buyers assurance that their suppliers meet key compliance standards while reducing duplication for buyers and suppliers alike. The firm announced the certification on 3 November.
Its teams already work for clients in these sectors, G&T said, and the accreditation means new and existing clients can now onboard the firm more quickly.
Rob Knight, Partner and Board Member at G&T, said: "Clients in the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors rightly expect the highest standards of assurance from their supply chain."
He added: "Achieving JOSCAR certification demonstrates that G&T meets those standards and makes it simpler for clients to bring us on board."
G&T said securing the certification was a team effort, with colleagues across the business contributing detailed input.
The register
Hellios Information Limited, which runs JOSCAR, says the register is tailored for the defence, aerospace and security industry. According to Hellios, member buyers control the content of the supplier questionnaire and influence the questions their own suppliers are asked.
G&T's announcement does not say which buyers required it to hold the certification.
G&T's defence practice
G&T describes itself as a partner-led consultancy delivering cost, project and infrastructure management services, backed by its partner Hennick & Co.
Its defence and national security practice offers cost, commercial, project and programme management services, supporting what the firm lists as MOD, DIO, primes and private operators. G&T says its security-cleared teams manage programmes across land, sea, air, cyber and space, with experience of defence programmes ranging from £100k to £100bn.
In space, the firm says it guides clients through satellite launch programmes in low, medium and geostationary Earth orbit, and helps clients develop spaceports that are licensable, technically feasible and commercially viable.
Knight is a chartered surveyor with more than 38 years of post-qualification experience in cost, project and programme management. His G&T profile says he has delivered infrastructure projects across sectors including defence and national security, healthcare, nuclear, rail and government.
Background
The certification follows G&T's announcement in April 2026 that it had joined the Controls & Skills Authority (CaSA), which the firm described as the professional body for project controls.
